Space Funding Revolutionizes Capital Raising, Secures Nomination in the 2024 North America Business Awards
While industries like retail, communication, and entertainment have embraced digital transformation, capital raising has remained virtually unchanged for decades. Entrepreneurs still face complex barriers, exclusive networks, and outdated processes to secure funding. Space Funding was created to disrupt this stagnant system and bring it into the modern era.
"Our mission is simple: make capital raising as easy as shopping online," said Jose Ruiz, founder of Space Funding. "While everything around us has evolved, from how we shop to how we communicate, raising capital looks like it’s still stuck 30 years in the past. We’re here to change that."
Space Funding’s platform eliminates traditional roadblocks, empowering entrepreneurs to connect directly with investors in a streamlined, user-friendly way. By giving businesses full control over their campaigns and investor data, the platform provides a transparent, efficient alternative to traditional methods, keeping it transparent and secure for companies and investors. With just a click of a button, raising capital becomes as easy as buying your favorite product online.
Since its founding, Space Funding has facilitated over $85 million in capital raises through more than 50,000 transactions. The platform has supported a diverse range of industries, from tech to real estate and sports. Some of their portfolio includes companies like Tribel, Boxabl, Watford, FMFC Investment, Popsmith, Caledonian Braves, Lit Motors, Doorvest, and many more.
Each success story highlights Space Funding’s unique approach to capital raising. As an example, Caledonian Braves, a small football club from Scotland, used Space Funding’s platform to raise more than $2.5+ million in game-changing capital. The campaign opened the doors to over 7,000+ investors, fostering a deeper connection with their community. Similarly, Boxabl, a disruptive real estate company, leveraged Space Funding to secure millions in investment, fueling their rapid growth and market expansion.
The vision for Space Funding is deeply inspired by the entrepreneurial journey of its founder, Jose Ruiz. While still in college, Jose launched “JOAGO” a direct-to-consumer (D2C) brand that repurposed ocean waste into innovative, sustainable products. By securing pre-orders from 150+ supporters, he raised the capital needed to bring the business to life. Fueled by this community-driven approach, Jose scaled the company to six figures and successfully completed an exit during his senior year of school. This experience laid the foundation for Space Funding’s mission: empowering entrepreneurs to raise capital and scale their businesses with the same level of accessibility and impact.
Building on this experience, Ruiz founded a second company, “Madame Records” focused on connecting people to art and music events through NFTs. This business quickly scaled to over 1,500 paying customers, hosting events in cities like Boston, New York (NFT Week), Miami (Art Basel), and San Francisco. They managed more than $2+ million in assets for their NFT marketplace quickly scaling close to mid-figures in revenue in just a few months of existence. These ventures taught him the value of community-backed funding and the importance of making capital raising more accessible.
After these two ventures, Jose wasn’t done yet. "Space Funding came to life after I worked at a venture capital firm in Boston and saw how outdated the process of raising capital still was," said Ruiz. "I grew up in a small town in southern Spain, and I wanted to build something that gave every entrepreneur—no matter their connections or background—the chance to get the funding they need to succeed and make a real difference for the environment."
Space Funding’s proprietary technology sets it apart from traditional capital-raising platforms. Entrepreneurs can track every step of the investor journey, from initial interest to final investment, while maintaining full control over their database. This transparency and control enable businesses to make data-driven decisions, re-engage potential investors, and maximize their campaigns’ effectiveness.

"Think of it as Shopify for capital raising," said Ruiz. "Just as Shopify transformed how businesses sell online, Space Funding is transforming how startups raise capital. It’s all about giving founders the tools and insights they need to succeed."
By integrating e-commerce principles into the private markets, Space Funding has created a platform that is intuitive, scalable, and inclusive. Investors, too, benefit from the seamless experience, gaining access to high-potential opportunities that were once reserved for the top 1%.
Space Funding’s nomination for the 2024 North America Business Awards is a testament to its impact and potential. But the company isn’t stopping here. Its goal is to help over 1,000 entrepreneurs raise more than $1 billion by 2030, creating a ripple effect of innovation and growth across industries.
"We’re just scratching the surface of what’s possible," said Ruiz. "The old ways of raising capital are no longer enough. Our platform is about more than funding—it’s about creating opportunities, building communities, and driving change."
As Space Funding continues to scale, it remains committed to its mission of democratizing private markets and empowering a new generation of entrepreneurs. By bridging the gap between traditional finance and modern technology, the company is paving the way for a more inclusive and dynamic future for capital raising.
